Genesis Behavior Center
provides behavioral intervention and treatment in different
forms depending upon each child's and family's needs. Funding
for these programs is most often provided by local school districts,
SELPAs, and/or regional centers. In addition, funding for these
programs may be provided by health insurance; check with your
provider and plan for specific coverage and benefits eligibility.

Early Intensive Behavior Treatment Programs
These programs are modeled after the groundbreaking
autism treatment programs conducted by Lovaas. They are geared
to help children "catch up" with their typically developing
peers, and have the goal of integration with peers in general
education classrooms. Children may be transitioned from EIBT
to Functional Teaching Programs, Consultation Programs, or programs
offered by the Local Education Agency (school district or SELPA).

35-40 hours of 1:1 intervention by Behavior
Therapists as well as consultation and supervision by a
Behavior Consultant
- lessons are conducted in Discrete Trials Training and Natural
Environment Training formats and are based upon each child's
individual learning style
- lessons are geared to prepare for school readiness and
prerequisite classroom & academic skills

areas targeted include: functional communication
and language, visual discrimination, imitation skills, appropriate
play skills, self-help skills, pre-academic skills, social
skills, observational learning, parent training

of the following environments: child's home, child's school,
and/or at the Genesis center site (on the grounds of Turlock
Learning Center located at 1620 Colorado Ave, in Turlock,

Early Start Programs
These programs are for very young children
(under 3 years old) who may not yet be eligible for a more intense
program such as the EIBT, or for whom the treatment team does
not feel a more intense program would be beneficial. Children
may be transitioned from Early Start into EIBT Programs, Functional
Teaching Programs, or programs administered by the local education
agency (LEA).
- 20-29 hours of intervention per week

Functional Teaching Programs
These programs are conducted after transition
from an Early Start or EIBT Program, or may be conducted in
addition to a current school placement.
- 10-20 hours of intervention per week

social skills

Consultation Programs
A Behavior Consultant works directly with the
parent/caregiver to provide intervention, and as a result, no
1:1 Behavior Therapist is involved. Consultation programs may
be transitioned to from a prior program placement, or may be
in addition to a current school placement.

caregivers working with a child with autism

in person, by phone, video, or e-mail correspondence

Behavioral Pediatrics Program
Designed for children of various diagnoses,
this program focuses on addressing behavioral and other concerns
impeding a child’s appropriate functioning within their
home and/or school living. These programs are often funded by
medical insurance companies, school districts or private pay
as they are considered a supplementary health and well-being
service.
Behavioral pediatrics programs are directly
supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed MFT,
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or Licensed Psychologist,
and directly implemented by individuals holding either a Master’s
degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years
of behavioral experience. Hours of intervention determined on
an individual basis. Services can be provided at Genesis onsite
clinic, school or home setting. Method of delivery resembles
individual counseling sessions, with specific methodologies
determined by the supervising LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist or Board
Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). For complete list of diagnoses
